Why I started this
After Jesus went back to the Father, His followers didn’t scatter. They went up to an upper room in Jerusalem and stayed together, praying with one accord, until the Holy Spirit came. That room is where the early church learned to lean on each other.
I believe it is just as important today for Christians to stick together and have real fellowship with one another. We live in a fallen, cursed world that is full of violence and hate, and it is easy to feel alone in it. We can’t afford to walk through it by ourselves.
“Ye are the salt of the earth… Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
Matthew 5:13–14 (KJV)
Jesus called us to be the salt and the light. Salt only preserves when it touches something, and light only helps when it shines where people can see it. UpperRoomTalk is a place to do both: to share what God is doing in your life, to encourage one another, to pray for each other, and to talk honestly about the hard questions of faith.
Everyone is welcome here, whatever you believe. Come as you are, speak the truth in love, and let’s build each other up.
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…”
Hebrews 10:24–25 (KJV)
